Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and will manage all aspects of their front desk duties and ensure impactful customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, and medical consultations.
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal demographics
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed.
- Process billing and co-payments and perform insurance verification.
- patients, handling inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing information about services offered at the health facility.
Qualifications:
- HND/Bachelors Degree in related fields
- Experience in Front Desk Managment, Communication, Customer Care or equivalent; further education in medical administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in similar role in accredited medical laboratory (ISO 15189) is added advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and billing practices.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
