Job Summary:
MMALABS is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our team. The RGN will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a resource-limited setting, ensuring compassionate and effective treatment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resourceful, and committed to improving healthcare outcomes in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including taking vital signs and detailed medical histories.
- Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide wound care, dressings, and other clinical procedures.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
- Assist in minor surgical procedures and other clinical interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and update medical records accurately.
- Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide emergency care and stabilise patients in urgent situations.
- Participate in health outreach and community education programmes.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper usage.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachlors degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or community health setting.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of nursing protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a resource-limited environment.
- Proficiency in using basic medical equipment and technology.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Abilities (English and Twi).
