SAMPLE REQUIREMENT
Tetanus is a serious disease caused by the bacterial toxin which leads to painful muscle cramps in your body and affects neck & jaw muscles causing lockjaw. You cannot open your mouth and swallow. A vaccine can easily prevent this infection. This test indicates the level of IgG antibody against Tetanus in your body. You should do this test minimum 3 weeks after you have been vaccinated for Tetanus. Vaccine for Tetanus is usually a part of DPT vaccine in children and given during the routine children’s vaccination program in India. Adults must take a booster dose of Tetanus vaccine every 10 years. You may require an urgent vaccine dose specially after road traffic accidents or injury.
