Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The PA will provide high-quality medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician, performing a wide range of clinical tasks to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with a deep commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses and injuries.
- Develop and implement patient management plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging.
- Prescribe medications and therapies as per scope of practice and regulations.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, casting, and wound care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachlors degree in Physician Assistantship from an accredited programme.
- Current certification by the Medical and Dental Council.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical protocols and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in emergency medicine, primary care.
- Bilingual abilities [English and Twi].
Working Conditions:
- Clinical environment with exposure to infectious diseases and other medical conditions.
- Requires standing, walking, and the ability to lift or move patients as necessary.
- May involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on the needs of the clinic
