Electrocardiograph & Echocardiography
An Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a quick, non-invasive test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It detects the tiny electrical signals that trigger each heartbeat, displaying them as wave patterns on a graph.
While an Echocardiogram looks at the heart’s structure (using sound waves), an ECG looks at the heart’s electrical rhythm and conduction system. It is the primary tool for diagnosing arrhythmias, heart attacks, and electrolyte imbalances.

Resting ECG (Standard) | 10-15 seconds; performed lying down in a clinic or hospital. |
Stress ECG (Exercise/Treadmill Test) | 15-30 minutes; performed while exercising on a treadmill or stationary bike (or using medication if you cannot exercise). |
Holter ECG (Ambulatory/Continuous Monitor) | 24 to 48 hours (or up to 14 days with newer patch devices); performed at home during daily activities. |
